Sleeping Babes

I just love to look in on my little men while they are sleeping each night. They are so tranquil and quiet after their long and busy days. Seeing them like this reminds me how quickly they grow up and just how precious they are.

Our March Blizzard

It's hard to believe that over 12 inches of snow fell in under 8 hours, and during the first week of March no less. Here's some pictures from our fun little snow day.
The view from our window during the middle of the blizzard.
Joshua Stephen with his feet sinking in the snow.
Golf anyone? Joshua Stephen loves to use golf clubs (or any type of stick or really any long straight item) as a weapon. He is such a boy, but he'll be a great protector one day!
Caleb enjoying the fresh air.
Joshua Stephen making snow angels with his good friend Maya. What Fun!!!

We decided to bring a little of the snow inside with us and make Snow ice cream. Here's the recipe:
1 gallon snow, 1 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract, 2 cups milk
When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once or freeze for a fun treat later. It's Delicious!

The Easter Bunny

Last week we were playing at the mall playground, when the Easter Bunny decided to pop in for a visit. (It was a really slow night at the mall, and the Easter Bunny didn't have many visitors so he came looking for some new friends.) We were all very surprised to see him, but we had fun getting to snap a few pictures with our new friend before he sprang back into action.

A work of art

Joshua Stephen made this fun craft project at the Log Cabin. He refers to it as his "church window" since you often see stain glass like this at church. You can't really see it, but there is a little sticker on it that says "Jesus died for me". I just love it!

Good reason to fuss

Caleb has been a little more fussy the last couple of days. So I was glad that we had his nine month check-up scheduled for today, that way I could have the doctor check and see if anything might be contributing to his sad condition. And today the doctor confirmed what I had been suspecting- my sweet little Caleb has an ear infection, but not just in one ear- he has an ear infection in both ears. He has a double whammy! Plus on top of that he also has a small eye infection and he is cutting new teeth. So in general, my little guy just doesn't feel well all over.
I'd say he has good reason to be fussy.
But despite all of his discomfort he is still managing to have some fun and bring smiles and giggles our way.

Eating all by himself

Our Little Caleb is getting so big!
He is now enjoying feeding himself all kinds of little treats like cheerios, freeze dried fruit, and small pieces of bread.

You'll never guess who Caleb's smurking at?
You guessed it- his silly Big Brother.

Dawson's Office

Dawson is very proud of his little cubical in the basement of the seminary library. We often refer to it as his office or his "home away from home". (Can you tell that he spends a lot of time there?)
The other day when we were out for a family walk around campus we decided to pop into the library to see where Daddy spends most of his time. Dawson was excited to show us his little corner of the library basement, complete with all of his textbooks for the semester.
Joshua Stephen was mezmorized by the endless shelves of books, and he had fun examining many of the books (to see if they had any pictures).
A future scholar- just like his Daddy.

Old Time Football

Just as we were getting ready to go outside with all of our snow gear on, Joshua Stephen picked up a football. We thought he looked like an old fashioned football player.

Here he is giving us his tough guy look.

Ready to go out and play.

My future Red Raiders

Here's some pictures of our future little Red Raiders. Go Texas Tech!!! Joshua Stephen is in the top picture, and Caleb is in the bottom picture. Both pictures were taken when the boys were around 9 months old. It's so fun to see their similarities and differences.

Jack & Emma come to visit

Jack and Emily and their sweet little boy Jackson came to visit us for the weekend. They came to check out Covenant Seminary because they are planning on coming here next fall. (And we just can't wait for them to arrive!) We had such a fun weekend getting to hang out with them. They had a busy schedule full of official campus visit stuff, but we had fun getting to love on Little Jackson while they were in meetings.
Me and Emma with our boys (minus Caleb who was napping).
Jack and Dawson- Great Theologians in training
Dawson with the babies. We call this the Sumo pose.
We went to a little Mom and baby cafe for a fun lunch out.
Here's Emma with cute little Jackson- it is so fun to see her as a Mom.
Caleb and Jackson- Destined to be Best Buddies.
Caleb checking out his new friend.
Joshua Stephen loved having another little guy around.
They thought he was so cool!
Two peas in a pod.
Isn't Jackson just Adorable!?!?!
