Playing Together

It's so fun to watch our boys grow up together. It is so sweet to see how much they love and enjoy each other. Joshua Stephen loves to teach Caleb new things like how to play with toys and how to make things work. And Caleb loves every minute of his Big Brother's attention. (He is a very attentive pupil.) Here they are having some fun playing with Dad at a family fun night.

Two kids in a cart

This is the first time both of the boys have got to ride side-by-side in the grocery cart. As you can see they had a good time. Joshua Stephen loved being able to hug and love on his little brother. He's such a great Big Brother, and I think he has the sweetest Little Brother in town.

I think Joshua Stephen may be a little protective of his Little Brother. (I love it!!!)

Peter Pan

Have you ever seen a cuter Peter Pan? Joshua Stephen has been having so much fun with his new Peter Pan costume that we got him for Christmas. He loves to dress up as Pan and include all of us in the grand adventure. I get to play the part of Wendy, and Dad and Caleb get to play the part of John and Michael. Joshua Stephen always does a great job protecting us from the enemy Captain Hook. Here he is swash buckling with his sword to help keep us safe and sound.

Victorious as always! My little Hero!!!!

Freezer Cooking

Jennifer, Kelly, me, Beth and Amy
These are the girls who minister to my soul by helping me feed my family delicious meals for a fraction of the time and cost. I've discovered that cooking is not my favorite things to do at this stage in our family's life. I like to think it is because we have two adorable kids that I would rather be playing with, but our tiny kitchen and tight budget probably add to my desire to simplify the dinner time process. So for whatever the reason, I am always looking for a way to cut down my time in the kitchen. Well, I found the perfect solution thanks to these fun friends. It's called Freezer Cooking.

A couple of times a year we get together to cook up a storm. We make over 100 delicious meals (that serve 4-6 people) in just under four hours time. And I am talking about gourmet meals, like chicken picata, spinach stuffed flank steak, and family style post roast. (Never mind all of the shopping, chopping and prep work that goes into it before our big night of cooking. ) We gather at a near by church for an evening of fun, where we combine tons of ingredients, turn up the heat and watch delicious meals magically appear.
Sweet Jennifer serving up her yummy chicken Florentine.
Beth and I measuring our little hearts out.
A freezer full of yummy dinners just waiting to be heated up and served! It's amazing how many meals you can fit in your freezer thanks to zip lock bags.

An Eagle Outing

Last week we got to take a fun field trip with some of the students from Lindenwood University. We went to Pierre Marquette to see where the bald eagles nest for the winter. We didn't see many eagles, but we still had a blast. Here are just a few of our favorite pics from the day's outing.
The girls- cute Kami, adorable Amy, sweet Sarah, and lovable Lauren
Joshua Stephen pretending to be shy.
These girls are always so Sweet to our little men.

Amy and Joshua Stephen both have great taste.
Carhartt is always in fashion.

Caleb keeping warm. Our trip was a little impromptu, so we just grabbed whatever was in the car to keep our little Caleb warm. Here he is all bundled up and cute as can be!
Peek-a-boo- I know my nose is in here somewhere.

Playing games and warming up with hot coco after our outdoor adventure.

Messy, Messy

I forgot that teaching a little one to eat can be a messy experience. Thankfully Caleb's bibs are bigger than he is so they help to keep him clean. Here he is trying some squash for the first time. Do you think he likes it???
